A warm summer of twenty-three cycles ago, a young Viera babe was found drifting asea in a small wicker bassinet. No one knows who would abandon such a beautiful babe, nor where she came from, but after much travel the little one washed upon the pearly shores of Sharlyan, being taken in by a Roegadyn couple.Atop her bassinet were thick layers of vine and twig, and but a single blossoming flower caught in the bedside. To this end, the babe's new adoptive parents endeavored to name her Ivy Blossom, a name she would come to cherish well into adulthood.Ivy struggled to keep up with her peers in the studies of aether manipulation, but she excelled in other fields of study such as aether manipulation, dance, and song. When she came of age she endeavored to set sail and see the world, becoming a renowned bard and hearing all the stories the world had to share.Eventually in a pub in Western Thanalan she came across an older man in blue and his company of Bards. All ex-sharlyans who left for similar reason, they referred to themselves as the Bards of the Blue and took a solemn vow to spread, share, and preserve the world's stories.Wine, ale, and good times were shared by the company but as all good stories go, this one needed a climax and a close. Tragedy befell the Bards of the Blue, while most were on a caravan they were attack by bandits for their wares and deep pockets. Our dearest Ivy Blossom had stayed behind for this journey and thus she remains the only surviving member of the Bards of the Blue.But such vows so solemn, so benevolent and righteous they transcend the limits of death itself! Even as the only remaining Bard of the Blue, Ivy is forever sworn to her duties to spread, share, and preserve the world's knowledge and beauty!
